The Solace Beach Good Citizens Program is an incentive program that gives special rewards to avatars with payment info on file with Linden Lab. You can get cash rewards, special freebies, and other benefits if you're a group member and also have payment info on file!

Many functions in Second Life require you to have Payment Info On File - that is, a bank account, credit card or debit card registered to your avatar. Doing so is safe and does not cost anything; unless you choose to use it, you'll never be charged. If you do use your info, only Linden Lab sees it, not individual merchants within SL. All we can see is that you have info on file (it's shown in your profile).

Why do we care enough about this to offer special rewards? Well, having payment info on file shows your fellow Residents that you are a real person, here to participate and contribute. You see, some people create "bot" avatars - robots that they use to camp and leech money from hardworking businesspeople in SL who just want to help newbies get some starting cash. So Solace Beach and other free L$ places in SL limit some of our programs to avatars that are verified as real people.

Depending on what country you live in, it can be complicated to add payment info. We know about this and we are sorry that is the case. Unfortunately, LL gives us no other tools to determine if an avatar is a real person. Therefore, we will always have free L$ that are available to all. However, if you're in the USA, Canada, or many European countries, you can follow the following instructions and get extra benefits from Solace Beach in 5 minutes!

How to put Payment Info on File:

Go to www.secondlife.com
Click Resident Login in the top right corner and log in with your name and password
You should be on the My Account page. From the blue menu on the left, under Membership, choose Update Payment Method. You do NOT need to be a "premium" member to put payment info on file or buy L$.
Enter your credit or debit card info, or add a verified Paypal account.

That's all! Now you can click on your balance in the top right corner of the SL viewer, and buy L$ anytime! Give it a try; you'll find it's so much easier to buy L$ than camp. 1000L$, about $4.00 US, will go a long way in SL!

Your card info is safe with LL - safer than when you eat at a restaurant, buy groceries, etc.  Most identity theft is not the result of online purchases!  We have invested thousands of real-world dollars in Second Life to buy this island and create and/or buy everything in it., and never had a problem. The economy of SL depends on members being willing to support the efforts of others. You don't have to spend a lot to have a great time here. And if you learn to build, script, or provide a service, you can MAKE money in SL, too!
