To help us provide an outstanding level of service, we ask that you read this FAQ before contacting our staff for assistance. Many of the most common questions people have are answered here. Please help us to help you by properly searching for your questions in this FAQ.

If (and only if!) your question is not answered below, please visit our support section and file a help ticket. You will receive a reply within 24 hours, probably much sooner. Each sim has an assigned manager who will respond to your question promptly. VERY IMPORTANT: Please include the name of the sim your land is on, and your parcel number. This will help ensure a fast response to your question.

I want to rent land. How do I see what is available? Please click here to visit our property listings. Each property listing page has a link to visit the lot. Click it and a landmark should open in your SL viewer. If for some reason this does not work, right click the link in your browser and choose Copy Link Location. Then open your Local Chat window in SL, hit Ctrl-V to paste the link, and enter. Then click that SLURL to visit.

 

I'm having problems finding the land I need, I want a full or half sim, or I have a complicated or specialty land request. Who can I contact?

I want to rent land. I want to buy this land. Do I need to contact anybody?

Nope! You can do it all yourself. First, right click on the land you want to buy and choose Buy Land. You'll get a window. Be sure to read the covenant on the website, then check the Agree box and click Buy Land. After you have bought the land, you'll need to go pay your first week's tier immediately. Land that has not been paid for within 30 min will be reclaimed.

Can I set up a business/mall/club on this sim? Can I use a security orb? Etc.

Please read our covenants. They answer most questions about what you can and can't do with your land.

Can I get a discount?

Our land is fairly and reasonably priced. Many of our lots are already discounted. However, if you have 3000 prims or more, you are welcome to contact Solace Beach Support so that we can set up discount pricing if you are not already receiving it.

What are some other ways I can save money on rent?

If you have residential land, you can switch to a lot that is not on the coast. Non-coastal lots are priced cheaper per prim! Full sim land is also cheaper per prim than Homestead land. Another great way to save money is to collect gift cards by participating in our Resident Rewards program. You can get gift cards by attending events, winning contests, and putting our stores in your Picks. Please click here for more information.

What are banlines? Why can't I use them?

Many people don't realize that if you uncheck "Allow Public Access", it puts up ugly red lines that you cannot see, but your neighbors can. To prevent this eyesore, we require that you leave "Allow Public Access" checked at all times. If you are found to have ban lines up, you'll be given 24 hours to correct the problem. If you don't, we'll temporarily reclaim your land in order to remove them. You are welcome to use a security orb to keep unwanted avatars off your land. Security orbs allow you to automatically eject people from your property that you don't want there. Please read our article on banlines for more information.

Can I terraform my land?

Yes, you can on all sims EXCEPT Beachcomber Oasis, Lucienne, Solace Dreams, and Serenity Beach. Please keep your terraforming natural and reasonable or you'll be asked to change it.

Do I need to join a group?

Yes, you need to join the group Solace Beachcombers for announcements. It is open enrollment so you don't need an invite, you can just search for the group and join it. You do NOT need to set or deed your land to this group. You can use your own.

 

 

How do I find my rental box to pay my tier?

Click the sign on your land - it will give you a notecard with a landmark to your rental box.

The rental box won't let me pay. What do I need to do?

Did you buy the lot first? You need to buy the parcel before the box will let you pay the tier.

How do I know when my rent/tier is due?

You can click on your box anytime for your time remaining. It may be off by a few hours if the server has not updated recently. If the text above your box is blue, you are paid up. If it is red, your tier is due soon or overdue and you should pay.

I have bought the land and paid my tier. How do I get rid of the sign?

Right click on the sign and choose Return.

How do I change the title of my land and other land settings?

Right click on your land and choose About Land. That will bring up a menu with six tabs. You'll see how to change just about everything about your land.

How do I allow friends to change my land's settings?

You will need to create a group, have your friend join it, and give them the powers they need via the Group Roles. Then go to your land menu, under the General tab. Where it says Group, click Set and choose your group. Then check Allow Deed to Group, click Deed, and OK. If you ever want to undo this, simply set your land for sale to yourself. Now only you can control it again.

How do I set a music stream on my land?

Right click on your land, choose About Land. Go to the Media tab and you will see a place to set a music URL.

I am behind on my tier. Will I be evicted?

You will not be evicted unless you are 2 days behind on your tier. To request an extension beyond 2 days, please contact Solace Beach Support. If you are behind and then pay, the money goes to the negative balance first. So let's say you are 1 day behind, if you pay for 1 week, you'll then have 6 days on the box, because it had to cover the arrears day first.

I have two parcels of land. Can I join them?

If they touch each other, yes you can. Please click here for a video tutorial that will show you how.

Can I resell my land?

You may not set your land for sale to the general public, or attempt to "flip" land for a profit. You may, however, transfer your land privately to a friend. You will need to contact Solace Beach Support to let us know that the transfer is taking place, so that we can contact the new tenant. LAND SET FOR SALE TO THE PUBLIC WILL BE TREATED AS ABANDONED AND FORFEIT ANY REMAINING TIER.

How do I get my TV to work?

Please read the instructions that came with your TV. Due to the variations in the operation of TVs, Solace Beach Estates is not able to provide technical support for TVs. Please consult the TV creator. NOTE: If the instructions say that you need to give an object to your landlord, etc. please disregard those. You should follow the TV instructions that pertain to owning, not renting, as the land parcel is in your name.

 

 

Help! My tier box did not work, or I paid the wrong tier box, what do I do?

Please contact Solace Beach Support with your transaction information. We will correct the problem promptly.

People are leaving stuff on my land. How do I stop them?

In your About Land menu, go to the Options tab. Make sure that Create Objects and Object Entry are unchecked for All Residents - but leave them checked for the Group. This will allow you and your friends to rez objects, but not strangers.

My neighbor has ban lines, a really ugly building, is lagging the sim, or otherwise breaking the covenant. What can I do?

Please contact Solace Beach Support and let us know. We try to check sims regularly, but we occasionally miss something. We DO enforce covenants and we won't allow serious violations to continue.

The sim is being griefed, is very laggy, or has some other urgent technical issue, can you help immediately?

Please visit the land office here and check the staff board. Any currently online staff member will help you take care of the problem. This should be for emergencies only.

 

 

I found a different parcel and I want to move, can you transfer my tier/rent that I have already paid?

Yes! We are happy to transfer your paid tier to any other Solace Beach Estates lot, on any of our sims. Please contact Solace Beach Support for assistance.

I am leaving my land early, can I get a refund?

Sorry, all tier fees are non-refundable. You are welcome to stay until your time is up. Please read our refund policy for more details.

I am leaving my land land, should I do anything?

Please remove your objects and then file a ticket with Solace Beach Support to let us know that you have left the property.
